HESI pH-Corrector ph+ (PLUS) is used to raise the pH value in fertilizer solutions for plants on soil, hydro and coco.
Especially when growing on hydro and coco, it may be necessary to manually adjust the water to the correct pH value. The optimal pH value is approximately pH 6 (5.8 - 6.2). If the pH value is too low, the roots will be damaged. If the pH value is too high, the nutrient intake can be impaired.
Soil is a medium that can store the nutrients from the irrigation water and release them to the plant over the course of several days, whereby the pH value in the soil drops. The irrigation water in hydro and coco substrates, on the other hand, runs quickly along the roots and must then contain all the substances that the plant needs in the right concentration. Therefore, the pH value should also be at an optimal value at the time of feeding in order to enable the maximum absorption of all nutrients. The pH value is most critical in hydroponic systems. Here, the irrigation water alone determines the environment of the roots, as there is no balancing medium.
