GrowMix growing substrate for plants with higher nutrient requirements.
In addition to the qualitative characteristics of soil such as stable, airy structure, water retention capacity and pH buffering, the sustainability of the planting substrate is also of utmost importance. Hesi GrowMix contains a mixture of white and black peat, bark humus, clay mineral and fertilizer. The peat is sustainably produced and all raw materials come from the region.
The raw materials:
Peat naturally has a high water and air capacity and a slightly acidic pH value. Peat can absorb many times its own weight in water and softens hard water.
Bark humus is added to revitalize the soil, as it can absorb and retain a lot of oxygen and water. Bark humus is composted conifer bark that is fermented to become growth-promoting humus. Bark humus has very good buffering properties, both for the pH and for the salt and nutrient content.
Instead of perlite, Hesi GrowMix contains natural clay minerals that act as water reservoirs and ion exchangers. Clay minerals consist of mobile silicate layers between which water, nutrients and acid particles can easily be stored, which guarantees a constant pH value in the root environment.
