Greenception GCx9
After 1.5 years of development, our partner Greenception is now presenting its new product range, the seriesX. The result: a high-quality, passively cooled product with numerous features that has understood its gardeners and their requirements.
Key Feature 1 of 4: Clever lighting
The new bar design achieves homogeneous illumination of grow rooms and tents in 80 x 80 cm (Boost) to 100 x 100 cm (Eco). The sweet spot, i.e. the recommended distance from the top of the plant to the lamp, is around 30 - 40 cm. As with the GC Cluster series, the seriesX is also designed as an improved replacement for the common NDL models. The GCx 9 is a 1:1 replacement for a 400-watt NDL.
Key Feature 2 v. 4: expanded spectrum
Like its predecessor models, the GC Cluster series, Greenception also uses a broader spectrum with UV light and far-red in the seriesX.
Increased root formation
The UV light is already included in the growth channel in the seriesX. The reason? Studies indicate that root formation in plants is stimulated under UV light.
Increased photosynthesis rates
Pure red light has long since ceased to be enough. Only with the addition of Far-red (included in Greenception since 2015) are plants able to develop their full photosynthesis potential under artificial light.
Key Feature 3 of 4: 2-channel dimming
Plants have different requirements for light intensity and light spectrum (light quantity and quality) in the different cultivation phases.
Adapted spectrum and light intensity
With the new stepless 2-channel dimming, the seriesX models ensure that the plants receive adapted spectra and light intensities during growth and flowering. The spectra are determined in GC's own research and development department in Lüdinghausen, Germany.
Up to 30% energy savings
While conventional plant LEDs are simply hung higher in the early weeks of cultivation, the seriesX can be effortlessly dimmed to the desired intensity. This key feature saves up to 30% on electricity costs!
Growth channel (veg)
Blue-heavy spectrum aimed at reducing internodal distances for compact growth (see compression). The UV light contained here strengthens root formation, which is essential during the growth phase.
Flower channel (flower)
The red-heavy spectrum simulates the sunlight in autumn and, with its far-red component, provides a further photosynthesis boost.
Key Feature 4 v. 4: Smart Install®
Another feature in line with the GC motto “by gardeners, for gardeners” is the ingenious Smart Install® hanging system, coupled with the option of hanging the seriesX strips separately from the driver box.
Save height
Using the Smart Install® rail including a screw with a large screw head, the seriesX LED lamps can be attached directly to the ceiling (also separately from the driver box). In areas with good air circulation, a distance of just 2 cm between the heat sink of the light bar and the ceiling is sufficient. Especially for vertical farming concepts (e.g. young plants) and rooms with low ceilings, every centimeter saved is a benefit.
Ultimate flexibility
An innovation of our seriesX plant LED that should not be underestimated is the numerous additional options for suspension and fastening. By inserting screws (ring, hook, etc.) with a lock nut or large screw head, the Smart Install® rail enables a large number of suspension combinations (e.g. screw hook + Easy Roll).
